According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, it happened at a home on 25th Street SW around 4:20 am.

The incident happened shortly after the father left for work.  The family heard a knock at the door, and a 14-year-old boy, thinking it was the father coming back for something, opened the door to find two masked armed men.

The men pointed a gun at the boy, who fled into the house.  The men entered the house and began firing, aiming bullets toward the room where a 9-year-old girl had been sleeping.

The men, described only as Hispanic or white, fled in a black SUV.
