NAPLES, Fla.- It turns out this isn't the first time Deputy Robert Scott Russell has bad a brush with the law over drinking and driving.
Fox 4 received an arrest report from 2002, that shows Russell was arrested and charged with DUI in Collier County after he drove off of the road and crashed his car into bushes while off duty.
After that offense he was sentenced to 6 months of supervised probation, but wasn't convicted on the DUI charges.
His most recent arrest taking place on Monday afternoon, happened after Corporal Robert Scott Russell crashed his marked cruiser near Collier Boulevard and Pine Ridge Road hitting another vehicle.
His arrest report points to possible intoxication, stating he had "slurred speech, lethargy, and inability to balance once Russell stepped out of his patrol vehicle"."
It also states, "He may be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, chemical substance or controlled substance."
Russell declined a field sobriety test, breathalyzer test, as well as a urine test.
Russell bonded out of Collier County Jail just after midnight Tuesday. He is scheduled to face a judge on March 30th.
