NAPLES, Fla. — The 17th Annual Cars on 5th events will kick off Thursday.

Proceeds benefit St. Matthew's House, who said it needs help now more than ever as the pandemic continues.

Proceeds will directly impact those struggling with food insecurity, homelessness and addiction.

St. Matthew's House said its food distribution increased over twenty times from 2019 to 2020.

With kids out of school and families out of work, more people are turning to them for help.

In 2020 they fed over 82,000 families. That's compared to before the pandemic in 2019 when they fed 4,000.

St. Matthew's House CEO Vann Ellison said Cars on 5th is the organization's biggest fundraiser. Last year it raised more than $500,000.
