NORTH PORT, Fla — Services and interactions on the first floor of City Hall in North Port are being reduced due to a number of internal COVID-19 cases.

City Hall will now be closed to walk-ins for permitting, planning, and utility payments.

Officials say the drive-thru window on the east side of the building will be open for those needs.

If you need to pick up or drop off permits, you can do it at the Utilities drive-thru.

Before you pick up a permit, you have to make a payment.

After making a payment, you have to call 941-429-7044 or email bldginfo@cityofnorthport.com to let them know you will be picking it up.

A dropbox has also recently been installed for permits.

The city says it's working on expanding social distancing.

Starting today, November 10, some City of North Port facilities will be closed to public traffic until further notice.

Officials want people to know that all departments are still available online and over the phone.

You can go to the city's website to learn more.
