FORT MYERS, Fla. — Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southwest Florida relies on community support and fundraising events to help ensure families with ill and injured children can stay near them during treatment. The pandemic has caused the organization to cancel multiple fundraisers this year.

“Like many nonprofit organizations, we have had to cancel multiple fundraising events in 2020. As a result, we are facing an unexpected loss of nearly $200,000 in sponsorships and donations,” said Laura Ragain, executive director.

As the world continues to navigate the far-reaching impacts of a global pandemic, one thing is clear: the need for family-centered care is growing, not shrinking. And that means the need for community support is growing, too.

“If you can contribute, a gift of any amount will be appreciated,” said Ragain. “Your donation today will help the families we serve every day, giving them the greatest gift: being together when it matters the most.”
