Positive Covid-19 case confirmed at Riverdale High School

FORT MYERS, Fla — The Lee County School District says they have been notified that a person who has recently visited Riverdale High School has tested positive for COVID-19.

The district says the Florida Department of Health in Lee County is in the process of communicating with the people who are directly affected.

The district will be following its cleaning protocols and will clean and disinfect the spaces where the person was on campus.

Classes will resume as usual on Oct. 1st.

The district is reminding everyone to follow the guidance provided by public health professionals:

-Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
-Stay home and do not go to school if you are sick.
-Stay home if you are waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test.
-Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
-Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
