NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- After a morning mess during rush hour, lanes are now back open on Pine Island Road.

The Florida Highway Patrol shut down all lanes of traffic for about an hour near the intersection of Pine Island and Pacific Avenue.

FHP says an injury crash happened Thursday morning around 6:30 a.m. Three cars were involved in the crash that left one person injured. There's no word on the extent of those injuries.

One of the vehicle's owner arrived on scene after the crash and told FOX 4 that someone stole his car and then crashed it. FHP has yet to confirm this information.

You are still urged to avoid the area as the traffic starts to clear.
