FT. MYERS, Fla.- Southwest Florida Crimestoppers needs the public's help identifying two people who may have stolen someone's credit card information.

Investigators believe the couple, caught on surveillance tape "cloned" the victim's credit card and spent $1,169 at two Target stores last month in Lee County.

Cloning is when a perpetrator uses a high tech device that copies someone's credit card information, even if the victim never lose sight of the card.

Detectives say in this case the victim was in physical possession of her card at all times.

Nearly 70 percent of credit cards have encrypted chips that help thwart cloning.  Credit card makers hope to have chips installed on all cards by 2017.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call SWFL Crimestoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.  Tips can also be made online or by texting a tip to 274637.
