Custody petition filed for Sievers children

Posted

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The mother of Bonita Springs doctor Teresa Sievers is petitioning for temporary custody of her two daughters with husband, who's charged in her murder.

The petition, filed by Mary Ann Groves, claims that Mark Sievers has "abused, abandoned or neglected" the girl by being incarcerated.

But Mark denies these accusations, and wants the court to deny the petition and schedule a hearing on his behalf.

Sievers is already due back in court in two weeks for a custody hearing with DCF.

Meanwhile, Mark's alleged accomplice in his wife's murder, Curtis Wright, is now serving a 25-year sentence after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.  Both Mark and the other suspect, Jimmy Rodgers, have pleaded not-guilty.
