Deadly year on Lee County roadways

Posted

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Fatal crashes have become all too common in Lee County. 95 people died on county roads in 2015, and the year isn't over just yet.

That's already an increase from the 81 who died in 2014. If this deadly pace continues, we'll surpass 100 deaths for the first time since 2007.

Four in your corner's Mark Jackman spoke with a traffic expert Tuesday to ask why this is happening and what's being done to make roads safer for you and your family.

EMS Captain and executive director of "Stay Alive...Just Drive!", Jay Anderson says of driving, "it's scary. this is the most dangerous thing that we do on a daily basis."
