LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A sheriff's deputy was taken to the emergency room early Wednesday morning after he was hit by a vehicle while on duty.
It happened in Bonita Springs near the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Garrett Street.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies were working a case at the time of the accident. The deputy was taken to the hospital, where Sheriff Mike Scott describes his condition as stable.
No word yet on whether any charges will be filed.
