North Fort Myers, Fl. -- A Lee County Deputy fired shots at a man trying to rob the 7-11 on N. Cleveland Avenue & Littleton Road in North Fort Myers Wednesday morning. The shooting happened at approximately 2:09 AM. A manhunt is underway for the suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.
The shooting took place when the Deputy was trying to interrupt the robbery & the suspect pointed his firearm at the Deputy. The Deputy then fired shots as the suspect fled on foot. It is uncertain if the suspect was hit. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'7, with a heavy build. A code red has been issued in the neighborhood.
