LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Southwest Florida dirt bike rider is dead after he crashed into a swamp buggy in Estero this weekend.
It happened just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Carter Road.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Dylan Mosley was riding a dirt bike on Carter Road, a narrow and unpaved road off Corkscrew Road in eastern Lee County. As he approached a swamp buggy headed the opposite direction near Estero Pines Road, the two collided.
Mosley, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, was thrown into a canal and died at the scene.
None of the five people in the swamp buggy were injured.
The crash is still under investigation.
