CAPE CORAL, FLA.- 'Tis the season for DUI crackdowns! Whether you know how you'll be ringing in 2016, or you're still working on your plans, Cape Coral Police say you need to make sure of one thing: a safe and sober ride home.
"Drinking and driving is never an option. There are just too many ways for you to get a ride home."
Sergeant Dana Coston told Fox 4 they've made 11 DUI arrests in the past two weeks. With New Years Eve celebrations just around the corner, they're ramping up patrols.
"In the last few nights, as well as leading into the new year, you're going to see a lot more Cape police officers on the streets conducting saturation patrols looking for impaired drivers."
So what do they recommend? A designated driver, a safe driving program, or plans to use a cab or ride-sharing service, like Uber.
