Early voting in SWFL reports record numbers

Posted

CAPE CORAL, Fla-- Supervisor of Elections offices throughout SWFL are reporting a record number of voters heading to the polls during early voting.  Lee, Collier and Charlotte county have received more than 100,000 ballots since early voting first began on October 24th.

"So if you can come out on a beautiful day like this, directly after church in my case, and be in and out before I finish what has to get done today it's well worth it," said Justine Saunders.

Saunders isn't the only one who thinks casting a ballot before November 8th is well worth it. Thousands of people throughout the area are taking advantage of early voting at designated locations as well as mail-in ballots.

"I'm a student right now and live in Tampa, but I'm registered here so I decided to come back down to my home city to vote," said Odalys Garcia.

You can still vote early until Saturday, November 5th.
