Early voting information for Southwest Florida

Posted
and last updated

50 of 67 Florida counties will begin early voting on Monday.  The remaining 17 counties that don't begin early voting Monday are expected to start throughout the week.

The Lee County Voting Center was one of the many places voters dealt with long lines, leaving some waiting up to 6 hours to vote back in 2012.  But Supervisor of Elections Sharon Harrington tells Fox 4  that voters will not have to wait that long to vote this year in the general election on November 8th.

If you are planning to come out and vote early, you'll need to bring a current and valid picture id with a signature -- anything from your Florida license, United States passport or a credit card will work.

There are things you should not do in a voting booth, including using a cell phone, bringing a camera, looking at someone else's ballot, and being outspoken for a candidate.
