NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Detectives arrested a bicycle-riding suspect Tuesday afternoon after they say he unsuccessfully tried to rob a convenience store.

36-year-old James Lewis is facing a charge of Attempted Robbery.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, a clerk at Dollar World on Laurel Drive in North Fort Myers says he was standing in front of the store Monday morning when he was approached by a man.  The man reportedly pushed the clerk back into the store and said "you know what I want."

The clerk was able to distract the man, who eventually left the scene on a bicycle.

He was later located by investigators and arrested.

Lewis is a repeat offender, with two prior charges of aggravated assault and one previous incarceration for theft.
