LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers are investigating a fatal crash near Bokeelia on Pine Island that may be connected to another nearby accident Friday morning.
The fatal crash involving a pedestrian was reported to Florida Highway Patrol just after 7 a.m. Friday morning.
It happened on Stringfellow Road near the intersection with Alcorn Street/Marina Road. The road was blocked for hours during the investigation, but has reopened.
Witnesses say the car involved in the fatality had knocked down road signs and collided with another vehicle elsewhere on Stringfellow shortly before striking the pedestrian.
