LEE COUNTY, Fla. - A fatal crash forced the shut down of several lanes of U.S. 41 in South Fort Myers Wednesday morning.

The crash happened just before 6 a.m., and Florida Highway Patrol reported that one southbound lane and two northbound lanes were closed at Hickory Drive.  All lanes have since reopened.

According to FHP, a gold-colored pickup truck pulled out onto U.S. 41 in the path of a white pickup truck.  The two trucks collided, and as a result the driver of the gold truck was ejected and the truck rolled over him.

The driver died at the scene.  He has since been identified as 62-year-old David Garcia of Fort Myers.
