Firefighters contribute to reward fund in Bonita Springs murder case

Posted

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The reward being offered for information leading to an arrest in the murder of a young Bonita Springs man has been raised to $5,500.

On Sunday, July 10th, 19-year-old Jordan Valero was discovered murdered in the early morning hours inside the home he rented in the 10000 block of Goodwin Street, off Old 41 Road in Bonita Springs.

Few details about the scene have been released by the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Last month, Jordan's family offered a $4,000 reward for information in the case, in addition to the customary $1,000 offered by Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.

Wednesday, Crime Stoppers announced that members of the Bonita Springs Professional Firefighters have pooled their resources to add an additional $500 to the reward fund.

“We are confident that there are people who have pivotal information that they haven’t shared with us yet.  Hopefully the increased reward will serve as an incentive for them to finally come forward and help bring closure to Jordan’s family and justice for the person who took his life," says Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator.

Anyone with information on the murder of Jordan Valero is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,500.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip through the mobile P3 app.
