Investigation in recruitment center bomb threat

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating a bomb threat at the Armed Forces Career Center on Fowler Street at Colonial Boulevard. 

 

A call came in around 3pm Monday reporting the threat.  Police immediately evacuated the building and explosive detection K-9's were used to help evacuate and clear the scene by 6pm. 

 

The Lee County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad was called to assist with the investigation. Officials also say the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security were called in to do the follow up investigation.
