Foodies flock to Cape food festival

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Four Freedoms Park was the place to be today. It was a one stop shop for some of the Cape's most popular restaurants.

It is a hot spot in Southwest Florida because of the free admission and parking.

"Cape Coral come on out and have fun. This is the foodie event of the year and the place to be," said Doni Landefeld, one of the event coordinators.

Vendors and people came by the truckload to the third annual Taste of the Cape. The event is hosted by Cape Coral's Chamber of Commerce and the Gulf Coast Symphony to raise money.

The funds collected go right back into the community in the form of scholarships and music education.

The chamber and Symphony feel Taste of the Cape has all the ingredients for people to sink their teeth into.
"Just to make it a win for the two organizations and also a win for Cape Coral," said Doni Landefeld.

It is also a big win for the long list of restaurant partners.

Hard at work serving up delicious food for hungry bellies.

"Oh lord we had a lot of different food here today. it was great. lot of different vendors. really enjoyed them," said Kevin Wilfong, who was enjoying the festival with his family.

"I would encourage everyone to come out and enjoy it," he added.
