Fort Myers, Fla. - Police are investigating a shooting that occurred overnight in a Fort Myers apartment complex and left one person dead.
Fort Myers Police are actively investigating. Police responded to a gunshots heard call just after 12 am Thursday morning in the Jones Walker Apartment complex located at 2909 Blount Street in Fort Myers.
At 12:20 a.m. Thursday Fort Myers Police Officers found Darien Demon Jackson, 23, suffering from a gunshot wound. Jackson was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital and later died of his injury.
Detectives along with crime scene technicians are actively working the incident. Detectives are also canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses.
