MOORE HAVEN, Fla. -- The Glades County School District has confirmed that all district schools will be closed Thursday and Friday, due to Hurricane Matthew.
Moore Haven Middle-High School will open at noon Thursday as a shelter.
West Glades elementary school will serve as a special needs shelter and will open at noon as well Thursday.
Hendry County schools will also be closed on Thursday and Friday.
Highlands County schools will also be closed.
Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties have announced that their schools will be open Thursday, but extra-curricular programs are cancelled.
As for colleges, FGCU will be closed Thursday and Friday. FSW is closing their Hendry and Glades locations. Charlotte, Collier and Lee counties will be open.
Most Barry University campuses are also closed. This includes their Fort Myers campus. They will be closed through Sunday.
