CAPE CORAL, Fla. — September is prostate cancer awareness month.
The prostate cancer foundation says 30-percent of cancers are preventable through lifestyle changes, including eating better. Each day on Fox 4, we'll profile a superfood you can incorporate into your diet. The challenge is called the "Eat It To Beat It."
Today's superfood is cabbage.
Cabbage is part of a group of leafy vegetables that help slow the growth of cancer cells.
Purple cabbage can give you twice the benefit.
Foods with bold colors, like purple cabbage, make it hard for tumors to start.
Try it with some kimchi, if you like to add some spice! Or maybe just some coleslaw for a simple side.
