HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. -- A Hendry County sergeant is now on unpaid administrative leave after being arrested for  perjury and misconduct.

Sgt. Robert Archer has been charged with three misdemeanor counts of Perjury When Not In An Official Proceeding, and one count of Official Misconduct in Public Agency, which is a felony.

According to the Hendry County Sheriff's Office, Archer has been booked in to the county jail, but he maintains his innocence in the case.

Once the court case is taken care of, HCSO will conduct an internal investigation into the allegations to determine any policy violations and disciplinary actions warranted.
