Lawsuit over rezoning gets additional plaintiffs

Posted

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The Estero Council of Community Leaders is joining a lawsuit against Lee County Commissioners, claiming the plan to rezone the Corkscrew Farms Development violates county policies.

Corkscrew Farms sits on 1,000 acres of land north of Corkscrew Road and about six miles east of Ben Hill Griffin Parkway.

The lawsuit was initially filed by the Responsible Growth Management Coalition.  It claims the county is violating several policies for the groundwater resource area by allowing housing units to be built there.
