The Lee County Sheriff's Office is launching a unique partnership with the federal government.

The Department of Homeland Security asked the agency to become the first ever local partner for K-9 Initiative.

All dogs are specially trained and will be used to detect potential explosives at various sites.

Both the Lee County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Homeland Security say they expect this partnership to be a game changer.
