LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Lehigh Acres man is in jail after a neighbor says the man led a 4-year-old boy from his driveway.

39-year-old Geoffry Jekanoski has been charged with Attempted Kidnapping of a Minor.

According to Fort Myers Police, a resident of the Sherwood Estates neighborhood off Lee Boulevard says that on Monday his two children were playing in their open garage with a neighbor's 4-year-old child while the resident briefly brought a package inside.  When the resident returned outside, he witnessed a man later identified as Jekanoski walking away from the residence with the neighbor's child.

When Jekanoski heard the garage door slam, he walked the child back to the home, where the resident confronted Jekanoski.

Police say Jekanoski was followed while as he walked away from the home and 911 was called.  He was located by police a block away sitting on the sidewalk.

Jekanoski, who lives in the nearby Olympia Pointe subdivision, was arrested and is currently in Lee County Jail with no bond.
