1 dead, 1 injured when motorcycle turns in front of SUV in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla.  -- We're learning more about a motorcycle crash in Cape Coral Friday night that left one person dead and one critically injured, and involved a DUI arrest.

The crash happened Friday night in the 100 block of Hancock Bridge Parkway East.

According to Cape Coral Police, an eastbound 3-wheeled motorcycle turned left into the path of a westbound SUV, which slammed into the right side of the motorcycle, which had two occupants.

Both occupants, neither of whom were wearing helmets, were thrown from the bike.

The motorcycle's driver, 71-year-old Leslie Burden of Cape Coral, was trauma alerted to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.  The passenger, 50-year-old Charlotte Disilvestro of Cape Coral, suffered serious injuries and was also trauma alerted to the hospital.

The driver of the SUV, 33-year-old Jacqueline Castillo of Cape Coral, was uninjured in the crash, but showed signs of impairment at the scene.  She was arrested and charged with DUI.
