DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. — A teenager is dead following a crash on Saturday night.
It happened on SW Robin Road just east of the intersection of US-17.
Troopers say the 17-year-old driver failed to make the curve.
According to the report the car traveled off the roadway and collided with a power pole.
Investigators say power lines and the pole fell on the ground after the crash.
FHP says the teenage driver got out of the vehicle and made contact with the downed power lines and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
