Two people are dead following a crash on Pine Island Road Friday afternoon, Cape Coral Police said.
The crash took place at approximately 3:20 p.m. at the intersection of NE Pine Island Road and Commerce Creek Boulevard.
A black Volkswagen Jetta was heading south on Commerce Creek Boulevard and attempted to cross NE Pine Island Road when he drove into the path of a Dodge pickup truck, CCPD said.
The driver of the Volkswagen, 31-year-old Justin Reed Collins and his passenger, 31-year-old Myles Cody Goss died at the scene.
The driver of the pick up truck was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time it is unclear if drugs/alcohol are factor in the crash.
