LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal accident on Butler St. East and Selkirk Avenue involving a 24-year-old motorcyclist Friday night.
Troopers say the motorcyclist was traveling east on a dirk, on a grassy field parallel to Butler Street East near Selkirk Avenue intersection approaching a canal.
Authorities say the motorcyclist ramped the west edge of the canal and became airborne.
The vehicle collided with the east side canal embankment and the driver separated from the motorcycle. Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
