COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers are investigating a fatal crash on Alligator Alley Monday near where another fatal crash happened just hours before.
Monday afternoon's crash happened around 11:30 a.m. near mile marker 93, just east of Naples.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Aubrey Mixon of Naples was driving eastbound on Alligator Alley when she lost control and entered the median, where her car struck the end of a guardrail.
The car then began rotating in the median and vaulted through a chain link fence and across a canal.
Mixon was ejected from the car onto the fence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mixon had been reported missing by the Collier County Sheriff's Office earlier Monday after he was last seen by family members in North Naples on Sunday evening.
Early Monday morning around 3 a.m. at mile marker 94, a single vehicle crash took the life of a Fort Lauderdale man.
