FORT MYERS, Fla., - A major makeover is coming to a popular destination in the heart of Fort Myers. Bell Tower Shops has announced a new redevelopment plan to renovate the more than 300,00 square foot shopping mall. They want to make it a more attractive shopping, dining and entertainment destination for people of all ages, according to a press release.
Their plan includes updating architecture, redesigning store fronts, a new landscaping and lighting design and fresh paint.
“The vision of bell tower is to have 1 entertainment complex that has the healthy mix of retail as well as dining as well as entertainment,” said Brad Cozza, a co-owner of Society, a new modern American restaurant in Bell Tower.
Cozza says the redevelopment plan follows in line with what similar style malls around the country have done.
“What they’re doing is raising all the rooflines and increasing the visibility itself so that when you’re in the parking lot, you can actually see the inside of the mall itself. That’s following the trend nationwide.”
Cozza says the mall also has future plans to have valet parking around the mall. The project begins in February 2018. It’s unclear when it will be completed.
