All seven proposed amendments approved in Everglades City election

EVERGLADES CITY, Fla. -- We have the results of Tuesday’s Everglades City election, in which several proposed amendments were on the ballot.

Voters approved all seven of the proposed amendments on the ballot, with at least 70% voting in favor of each one, and 5 of the amendments getting approval of more than 90%.

They focused on issues like public records and how the city council operates and is paid.

The Supervisor of Elections reports that of the city’s 224 eligible voters, 24% cast a ballot. 17 ballots were cast by mail, with 42 ballots cast on Election Day.
