FORT MYERS, Fla. — You could hear the excitement from the street as fans cheered on the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team at Millennial Brewing in Fort Myers.

The loudest cheers came from Cameron Siggs, an avid soccer fan passionate about anything U.S. related, but especially women’s soccer.

“This is our country, this is our country. It’s probably our country’s best team since the dream team in ’92 basketball,” Siggs said.

What started as a nail biter ended in a 2-0 win for the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team against the Netherlands at the Women’s World Cup in France. This is the fourth time the team won the World Cup.

They had a good start being undefeated leading up to the final game.

“These women have worked their entire lives to get here. It’s just amazing to see them and the joy that they play with and the skill that they’ve got. You know, it’s inspiring,” Signs said.

The inspiration led Cathy Scarangella to dress the part of a U.S. soccer fan and the fact that its the week of the Fourth of July.

“It feels kind of patriotic. It just makes you feel more connected to the team when you’re watching it, like you have a jersey or the colors even, just the colors, it makes a difference,” Scarangella said.

Some don’t need the colors to show they are a true fan.

“I always bust my shirt off when they bust their shirt off when we win, so I’ll be running around screaming,” Siggs said.
