Armed robbers target Dollar General overnight

Authorities are searching for two armed men who robbed a Dollar General store at gunpoint Saturday night.

It happened just before 11 p.m. at the store located as 1154 Alabama Avenue in Lehigh Acres.

Two men forced employees into the store and demanded that the clerk open the safe, authorities said.

After collecting the cash, the men pointed their guns at the employees and forced them in the bathroom. They later fled the scene in an unknown direction.

One of the suspects is described as approximately 5'10", in his late 20s or early 30s with an average build, short black hair and a full beard. He was wearing a white surgical mask and carried a dark colored firearm.

The other suspect is descried as approximately 6'2", with a thin build and possibly in his 30s. He wore a bandana over his face, white latex gloves on his hands and was armed with a silver semiautomatic gun.
