PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Deputies in Port Charlotte are investigating an armed robbery along Edgewater Drive, the second armed robbery reported in the area Wednesday morning.

It happened at 6:15 a.m. the Marathon gas station at the intersection with Bayshore Road in the Charlotte Harbor neighborhood.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the suspect description is a black male in his 20's, wearing a dark hoodie and jeans. Suspect displayed a gun. Suspect possibly driving a small black SUV.

There were no injuries.

This robbery was reported 15 minutes after another armed robbery at a convenience store in Punta Gorda, 4.6 miles away.

UPDATE: The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office says they believe the two armed robberies ARE related.
