CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- A homeless Charlotte County man was arrested Thursday, accused of stealing a pickup truck from a shopping center parking lot the day before.
48-year-old Judd Lawson is facing charges of Grand Theft from a Person 65 or Older, Criminal Mischief, Burglary, Violation of Probation, and Dealing in Stolen Property.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the victim told investigators her 2005 Chevy Silverado was stolen from the parking lot of the Winn Dixie store on Tamiami Trail at Harbor Boulevard on Wednesday.
Lawson was soon identified as a suspect, and after questioning him, the investigation focused on the area near Orlando Boulevard and Price Boulevard, where aerial crews spotted the truck in a wooded area.
Lawson is being held in Charlotte County Jail on no bond.
