COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol has made an arrest in a hit and run accident in which someone had to be airlifted to the hospital.
Investigators say that at 9:44 p.m. Thursday, 47-year-old Joshua Westley was driving the wrong way on an exit ramp from Interstate 75 at Immokalee Road when the mirror of his truck struck a pedestrian who was walking across the off ramp.
Troopers say Westley then drove off before he was arrested a short time later in a restaurant parking lot.
The victim, 41-year-old Ryan Evanson of Naples, was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. We're waiting on an update on his condition.
