PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Vice Mayor of Punta Gorda, Lynne Matthews, and Nanette Leonard are hosting the Black Tie Express.

The event will go towards helping Charlotte High School students who are in need.

They are asking residents from all over the community to visit one of their three locations.

Anyone can participate by donating formal gowns, tuxedos, suits, and accessories, which will provide these young students in need who want to attend Charlotte High’s 2020 Prom the opportunity to go in style.

The Black Tie Express will make three stops in Punta Gorda on Monday, March 16:

  • 10:10 a.m. Laishley Crab House 150 Laishley Ct.
  • 10:40 a.m. City Hall (in front of the building) 326 West Marion Ave.
  • 11:10 a.m. Bal Harbor Shopping Center, 1133 Bal Harbor Blvd.

After the last stop in Punta Gorda, the Black-Tie Express will pull into Charlotte High School’s parking lot, where students from the Leo club will help unload all of the donations.

For those who may not be able to connect with one of our pickup locations and times, please contact Lynne (941-380-1788) or Nanette (908-618-1776), and we will make arrangements to collect your donations.
