Boat fire update: Four injured in Naples Bay

NAPLES, Fla. – There’s new information on a boat fire in Naples that left several people injured over the weekend.

It happened Saturday morning in the north end of Naples Bay near marker 40, just south of the Tamiami Trail bridges.

Florida Fish and Wildlife says that after leaving a fuel dock, the captain, 28-year-old Robert Dorson, tried to start the 28-foot vessel’s engine and it caught fire.

There were six people on board, and four were injured.

Three people were treated at Naples Community Hospital, while another victim, 23-year-old Mary Casella, was flown to Lee Memorial for treatment.

No further word on their conditions.
