A man was hit and killed by two vehicles while walking on U.S. 41 Friday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

It happened shortly after 11 p.m. at the intersection of Lakeridge Ct. in Fort Myers.

Dustin Davis, 30, of Bonita Springs crossed in front of a car at the intersection and was hit, according to FHP.

He landed within the intersection where he was struck by a second oncoming car traveling south.

The driver of the first car, Andrew Hallihan, 20, of Lehigh Acres, stopped in the parking lot of City Mattress after the crash.

The second vehicle fled the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.
