The Cape Coral community experienced their 13th annual Coconut Festival. The event lasts for four days and all ages are welcome! According to event coordinator, Kristin Bean, the event "known as the city's signature event and it's centered around the city's birthday."
It costs five dollars to get into the festival and for ages zero to five, the event is free of charge.
The Coconut Festival offered performances from traditional dancers, concerts, and, of course, the best fair food around! Pizza, homemade lemonade, funnel cakes, and jumbo pretzels were just some of the choices to choose from.
Bean says "thousands od people came to the festival and country concert yesterday." She also told me "last night's attendance was record breaking."
According to the event coordinator, the event grows larger and larger each year. Kristin told FOX 4, her team had to increase the number of officers at the festival because she knew the crowd would be "bigger than it's ever been before."
Tomorrow is the last day to enjoy the festival this year-- it's expected to come back next fall.
