CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Hundreds of people in Southwest Florida plan to participate in Cape Coral's Freedom 5K on Thursday, July 4th.
Registration starts at 6 a.m. and the race begins at 7 a.m. at the foot of the Cape Coral Bridge. It is $40 to register at the door.
Your entry fee includes food, water, race shirt and vendor giveaways. A portion of the proceeds made today will benefit the Southwest Florida Military Museum and Library as well as the Special Operations Communicators Association.
Following the race, there will be a kids' fun run, awards ceremony and military presentation.
All military personnel that are registered will receive a special race shirt and challenge coin.
