CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Mayor Joe Coviello and the rest of city council had a community of the whole meeting. They listened to presentations on parking issues and updates to the Bimini Basin project.

The renovation project was shown to Cape council. It was more a less to catch the council up on the findings the developer have. However, many people who live around the water were concerned about the water quality.

"The major deterrent of that project is the polluted water in the Bimini Basin, that's our main concern," one man who spoke told the chambers. "Alan Jennings from FOX 4 came out and did a story on it. He had the water tested and reported it," he added.

The Bimini Basin project continues to gather information they hope to have by the fall.

Cape Coral City Council listened to a memo people have with parking issues. The city manager told everyone in the chamber that parking issues were the most handled problem by code enforcement.

The point of the presentation was in order to get the council to give them direction on whether or not to change the current requirements. Some people who commented want the codes to stay as is.

"Rules are there to protect people," one woman said when it was her turn to speak.

Others think it is worth it to revisit some of the current regulations.

"If I don't want to look at his truck, I just won't look in that direction. There seems to be far too many people in this room who spend too much time looking out their window," one man said.

Cape Coral City Council gave the city manager some direction on how to proceed. They plan to revisit this matter in the future.
