Cape Coral man calling for change to city hall parking enforcement

CAPE CORAL, FLA. — A Cape Coral man is calling on the city to do a better job of enforcing its parking rules at city hall.

That's after Robert Peters pulled up yesterday to pay his taxes and couldn't find anywhere to park his truck with a trailer attached.

City hall only has three designated spots for trailer parking.

Yesterday, when Fox 4 went to investigate, our reporter found three marked city vehicles, without trailers, parked in those spaces.

Reporter: "Does it feel like a double standard?"

"Oh yeah. There is no where else to park your trailer. Anywhere else that I parked, it would be a risk that I would get a ticket," said Peters.

A spokesperson for the city says they are looking into the incident.

They also encourage anyone having trouble with parking to call 311 to report it.
