CAPE CORAL, Fla -- A Southwest Florida man says he didn't know what to do about the trash that's been sitting in his driveway for weeks. So he turned to Fox 4 for answers, because he says Waste Pro, isn’t getting the job done when it comes to picking up his trash.
William Pentaude says its another day, and the same trash sticks around his Cape Coral home on pick up day. Pentaude’s says he’s called the city and waste pro dozens of times in the last six months.
"All I want is my garbage picked up, it's a big problem, again this week, my garbage sits here. it’s been here ten days sitting here," Pentaude said.
Pentaude’s says he’s called the city and Waste Pro dozens of times in the last six months. He says what’s confusing is his neighbor's trash gets picked up, but not his.
"They tell me it has something to do with commercial pickups versus residential pickups I don’t know, and I don’t care," Pentaude said.
Fox 4 reached out to Waste Pro and they tell us the location of his home may be the issue. Waste pro representatives say Pentaude's neighbors have commercial carts and Pentaude’s has residential trash cans. Waste Pro explains the commercial customers have different service days than residential customers in his area.
Waste Pro tells us in a statement: "The proximity to commercial may be why the customer called in the same day miss today. this may also lead to some confusion with drivers from time to time.”
Since we spoke with Pentaude Monday morning, Waste Pro did pick up his trash later that day. Fox 4 did reply to Waste Pro’s comment about the confusion and asked how they could help clear up the confusion, but we have not received a response back yet, we’ll keep you updated.
