CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Police are investigating an accident that has shut down the eastbound lanes of Cape Coral Parkway.
Cape Coral Parkway's eastbound lanes are shut down near Pelican Boulevard.
Neighbors said one person was taken away from the scene in an ambulance. That person may have been struck by a vehicle.
A secondary accident occurred near the first one, possibly due in part to the first accident.
Investigators were seen collecting personal effects in the middle of the road, including a cellphone and jacket.
Cape Coral police are on the scene, and the incident is under investigation.
